1. Some approaches/techniques to try:
A. DISPLAY TYPEFACES
Pick different ‘display’ typefaces to replace the original logo’s type.
‘Mock them up’ (via hand tracing or output from a computer or drawing)
the new type versions to show how they might look
B. ILLUSTRATIONS
Make by hand (draw, paint, sew, knit or model 3D in wire, clay, architectural
foam core, paper, cardboard), that is by any chosen means, NOT computer-derived
C. IMAGED GRAPHIC/SILHOUETTE
Simplify the outline or profile of your new logo by any medium.
D. LOGO-CONCEPT GRAPHIC
NOW design and combine your logo inspired by your references above
(A,B,C) maintaining the idea or essence of the original logo
E. LOGO-STYLIZED GRAPHIC
Combine your newly chosen typeface/title (from A above) and your logo-concept
(from B,C,D above) to create your newly re-created logo
D. Assignment:
1. Pick 3 different versions/directions of your favorite logos and type solutions to create
3 rough versions of your now transformed new logo (image and text)
2. Rewrite your rough draft of your critique of your logo and your proposal to make different
